Over the autumn we have had much of the church redecorated. Our external doors and railings look much smarter since teams of people sentenced by the courts to unpaid work in the community have worked on them. The internal corridors, Dorcas Room, Sunday School Room and Hall are now all newly painted. We hope, in 2018, to renew install the kitchen, decorate the church internally, and have the eaves, turrets and exterior windows all painted and renewed.
In September and October we had new heaters installed in the halls. Thanks to generous donations and good stewardship we were able to afford this meaning that the church is nice and warm for us in the winter and is available to rent out – it would make a brilliant concert space.
On Saturday 19th August we will be going to Helensburgh to meet up with other URCs in the West Link of the Synod of Scotland to look at how better to Share our Good News.
On Saturday 12th August we will be having a day together cleaning and tidying our church. Come along and help dust, move cupboards, make tea and sandwiches or simply keep our spirits up!
Marie and Andy will each have an “at home” in August and September so we can get to know them better, see their manses and find out more about their respective priorities. Please contact us for more details about dates and venues.
On 22nd July we celebrated the induction of our minister, the Rev’d Andy Braunston. He serves our sister churches in Barrhead and Stewarton alongside us.
On 9th June we celebrated the induction of Marie Trubic, our Church Related Community Worker who serves our sister congregation in Priesthill. Marie will be spending part of her week working with us helping us become more focused on the needs of our local community.
